ONE BY ONE by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES

Poet Analysis

First Line: FEW ARE MY FRIENDS
Last Line: MY FRIENDS LEAVE HOME.
Subject(s): DEATH; FAREWELL; FRIENDSHIP; DEAD, THE; PARTING;

Few are my friends,
But kind and true;
One by one,
I lose my few.

Again a friend
Must leave this world;
One by one,
His limbs go cold.

Before the Sun
Has left yon wall,
One by one
The blinds will fall.

My visits change
From house to tomb:
One by one
My friends leave home.
