SEE WHERE YOUNG LOVE by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES

Poet Analysis

First Line: SEE WHERE YOUNG LOVE SITS ALL ALONE
Last Line: AND TEARS HAVE MADE YOU WISE.
Subject(s): LOVE;

See where Young Love sits all alone,
And sucks his thumb, and broods:
And all because you women have
These ever-changing moods.

See how he sits in this cold air,
That has the breath of tears:
Waiting until your mood has changed,
And one round drop appears.

Till one round trembling tear-drop leaps
From the corner of your eyes --
To show your mood has changed again,
And tears have made you wise.
