SPORT by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES

Poet Analysis

First Line: HUNTERS, HUNTERS
Last Line: TAKE THEIR DELIGHT.
Subject(s): HUNTING; HUNTERS;

Hunters, hunters,
Follow the Chase.
I saw the Fox's eyes,
Not in his face
But on it, big with fright --
Haste, hunters, haste!

Say, hunters, say,
Is it a noble sport?
As rats that bite
Babies in cradles, so,
Such rats and men
Take their delight.
