Classic and Contemporary Poetry

YEARBOOK by MILO DE ANGELIS

First Line: FROM THE BARBED BODY, WIRES

From the barbed body, wires
climb into the air
with the proof of a scream. Like a
primitive formula of poverty,
every meal melts
into drops through the heart, every sleep
is encrusted in matter, that meeting
between raptus and firmament
from which we return erased.
