HILL VIEW by MARTHA C. DEAN

First Line: I STAND ALOFT ON A HILLTOP WHERE
Last Line: ITS GLORY LIES AT MY FEET.

I stand aloft on a hilltop where
The whole world lies at my feet
And heaven and Earth are joined at the point
Where the sky and the hilltop meet.

World! World! Beautiful world
With crooked rivers and trees,
You rise and fall at the Maker's will,
The flowers bloom on the crest of the hill,
The wild wind calls with the whippoorwill
And its voice is shrill and sweet.

I stand again at the foot of the hill
Where the world lies calm and neat;
Wrapped in the rays of a golden sun
Its glory lies at my feet.
