UNBEWILDERED by MARGARETTE BALL DICKSON

First Line: GRAY GEESE COME HONKING FROM THE NORTH'...BUT LED
Last Line: A VOICE ONCE SPAKE IN FAR OFF GALILEE.
Subject(s): GEESE; MIGRATION;

"Gray geese come honking from the North" ... but led
By some gray gander, schooled by other flights;
The storm may rage and buffet, but his head
Is clear and cool in all those wind-swept heights.
When but a fledgling, following other lead
And listening to the trumpet call that came,
He learned obedience, trust, unfaltering heed
Of that clear voice, regardless of the tame
And sheltered ducks in many a pond and lake
Who honked an invitation to their reeds.
And now he is a leader, for whose sake
A newer generation dares great deeds.
There was a first migration. ... by the Sea
A Voice once spake in far off Galilee.
