A FAITHFUL SERVANT by DIOSCORIDES

First Line: A LYDIAN, YES, A LYDIAN I
Last Line: TIMANTHES WILL BE THINE.

ALYDIAN, yes, a Lydian I;
But though I was a slave,
My master let his tutor lie
In this, a free man's grave.

Good years and happy be thy share!
And when, with life's decline
Thou comest, master, even there
Timanthes will be thine.
