ENVOI TO 'PROVERBS IN PORCELAIN' by HENRY AUSTIN DOBSON

Poet Analysis

First Line: NO MORAL. NOTHING MORE THAN MAY
Last Line: MAY LURK IN FABLES FRAIL AS THESE.

No Moral. Nothing more than may
Enliven hours that seem too long;
Or shred on some beclouded day
The light of laughter and of song.

No Moral, -- no. Yet oft they make
More than they mean, who would but please;
And something for the Moral's sake
May lurk in Fables frail as these.
