WALT WHITMAN by SAMUEL DUNIEVITZ

First Line: SIMPLICITY IN PURITY OF TRUTH / THAT IN ALL
Last Line: IS THE EVER LINGERING OBJECT OF WALT WHITMAN.
Subject(s): POETRY & POETS; WHITMAN, WALT (1819-1891);

Simplicity in purity of truth,
That in all things truth's vision is seen;
The music and wisdom of fairness
In all things small or big,
Is the sympathy of men of pure souls.

Society's false glimmer
Dazzles not the eyes
That see fairness;
The simple secrets of nature
That puzzle the mind of a child,
These mysteries of life that quest the aged and wise,
Is the ever lingering object of Walt Whitman.
