TE DEUM OF THE YEARS by WILLIAM ARTHUR DUNKERLEY

First Line: FOR THE LIFE GIVEN, AND FOR THE LIFE PRESERVED
Last Line: WE THANK THEE, LORD.
Subject(s): HOLIDAYS; RELIGION; THANKSGIVING; THEOLOGY;

For the life given, and for the life preserved
In peril past, and peace and joy and hope,
We thank Thee, Lord.

For every function of this mortal frame,
The mortal temple of Thy heavenly flame,
Whose complex wonders Thy great love proclaim,
We thank Thee, Lord.

For all Thy bounties through the varying years,
Granting of hopes and lightening of fears,
For Thy Great Givings, Thy Forgivings Great,
We thank Thee, Lord.
