ON THE FIGURE OF A NEGRO SUPPORTING A DIAL (IN FRONT OF ARLEY HALL) by ROWLAND EYLES EGERTON-WARBURTON

First Line: TO THOSE CRITICS ONE WORD, WHO THE REASON IMPLORE
Last Line: A NEGRO OF COURSE SHOULD BE NEAR AN EGRESS.
Subject(s): BLACKS; RACISM; RACIAL PREJUDICE; BIGOTRY;

TO those critics one word, who the reason implore,
Why I place a black statue in front of my door?
I think it a well chosen spot, I confess;
