CHRYSIPPUS: EARTH AND SKY by EURIPIDES

First Line: O POTENT EARTH, AND HEAVEN GOD-BUILT
Last Line: OLD THINGS ARE CHANGED, AND NEW REVEALED.

Opotent Earth, and Heaven god-built, --
Of Heaven are god and man begot,
And Earth brings forth to mortal lot
Fruits of the rain from Heaven spilt --

The grass she bears and wild things' breed:
All-Mother rightly is her name.
To Earth go back from Earth who came,
And what was born from skyey seed

Travels again to Heaven's field.
There's nothing dies of all that's born;
But one by other toss'd and torn
Old things are changed, and new revealed.
