In the meadows near Life's highway Threaded through by many a byway, Sheltered safe from roaring traffic Rise the towers of Friendship Town. Here are hands that ease the burden, Counting service as a guerdon, Hearts that greet each other's triumph As it were their own. There's a freshness and a beauty That transform routine and duty To a joyous glad adventure In the lives of Friendship Town. Far off in the mountain ranges Beetling crags loom, dark with danger And the cliffs slope to deep canyons; There the soul must climb alone But undimmed by dark or distance, Shining still with bright insistence Through the storm or through the twilight, Glow the lights of Friendship Town. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO IMAGINATION (2) by EMILY JANE BRONTE THE CHILD ALONE: 3.
