IN TUSCANY: MINOR NOTES; TWELVE RISPETTI: 5 by CORA RANDALL FABBRI

First Line: I RIDE THROUGH FOREST AND I RIDE THROUGH DALE
Last Line: TO MEN BELOW AND NIGHTINGALES ABOVE.

I ride through forest and I ride through dale,
Made dim and dark by many a tall pine-tree;
I sing my song, and hear the nightingale,
Who is my little brother, answer me.
We sing a song that hath the same refrain,
And saith, alas! how Love is only pain;
That saith, alas! how like a thorn is Love
To men below and nightingales above.
