THE FORGING OF THE SUN by JOHN GOULD FLETCHER

First Line: UNDYING SUN OF THE YEARS, POUR FORTH THY BLOOD
Last Line: TO BE OUR SONG, OUR GLORY, AND OUR FATE.
Subject(s): SUN;

UNDYING sun of the years, pour forth thy blood
Till men grow drunken with the strength thereof:
Let us be wrapped in flame as in a hood.
And perish and be reborn in fiery love.
Sun that grows pale each winter through the bold
Death-struggle of desire we recreate
On the worn anvils of will, your power old
To be our song, our glory, and our fate.
