BELIEF by HORTENSE KING FLEXNER

First Line: IN SIX GOLD WEEKS OF SUMMER
Last Line: BELIEVING THAT FLOWERS ARE ETERNAL.
Subject(s): DEATH; IMAGINATION; DEAD, THE; FANCY;

In six gold weeks of summer
The striped bee,
Still eager for more roses,
And sunny paths of clover sweetness,
Dies,
Believing that flowers are eternal.
