SYMBOLIST MOVEMENT by HORTENSE KING FLEXNER

First Line: I AM FALLING THROUGH THE BRANCHES OF A TREE
Last Line: TO BREAK MY BONES.
Subject(s): EMPTINESS;

I am falling through the branches of a tree,
Slipping through leaves
That strike the back of my hands,
My wrists—my arms.
I shall grasp nothing.
But it is not unpleasant to know
There is no ground
To break my bones.
