MAURESQUE (TO V.M.) by FORD MADOX FORD

First Line: TO HORSE! TO HORSE! THE VEIL OF NIGHT SINKS SOFTLY DOWN
Last Line: THE CRESCENT MOON LOOKS SOFTLY DOWN.
Subject(s): HORSEBACK RIDING;

To horse! To horse! the veil of night sinks softly down.
The hills are violet, the desert brown,
And thou asleep upon the silken pillows
Within the small white town.

We ride! We ride! and o'er the sand in billows
The crescent moon looks softly down.
