THE THOROUGHBRED by KATE DOWNING GHENT

First Line: WAY OUT IN FRONT JUST A - BREEZIN' ALONG
Last Line: WAY OUT IN FRONT JUST A-BREEZIN' ALONG.
Subject(s): ANIMALS; HORSES;

'Way out in front just a-breezin' along --
Like nobody's business -- listen for the gong,
A thoroughbred is racin', his hoofs beat a song --
You'll find him in front just breezin' along.

Steppin' out in front, his head held so high,
You'd think he was seein' stars in the sky --
A thoroughbred is racin' -- see the sparks fly --
'Way out in front he's tellin' 'em good-by.

Bet your bottom dollar, you'll not go wrong,
See the lordly air he's castin' o'er the throng --
A thoroughbred is racin', he's goin' strong
'Way out in front just a-breezin' along.

A lesson he is teachin' -- Are you goin' strong --
Are you steppin' lively, on your lips a song --
A thoroughbred in breedin'? -- Then you belong
'Way out in front just a-breezin' along.
