EVENING by JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE

First Line: O'ER EVERY MOUNTAIN HEIGHT
Last Line: THOU TOO, SHALT REST.
Subject(s): EVENING; SUNSET; TWILIGHT;

O'ER every mountain height
Slumber broods,
Scarcely a zephyr light
Stirs in the woods
One leafy crest;
The song-bird sleeps on the bough.
Wait a little, and thou,
Thou too, shalt rest.
