FAINT, far-off, haunting, hear!
The White-Throat's call!
Wild from the forest depths:
Delicately beautiful.

Again the third descending note
Repeats the call.
Louder and clearer,
Searching the wild-wood depths,
Trembling it fills the air,
Plaintively beautiful.
