CLASPING THE CLOUD by EDMUND WILLIAM GOSSE

First Line: I YEARN NOT FOR THE FIGHTING FATE
Last Line: THAN JUPITER COULD BE.

I YEARN not for the fighting fate,
That holds and hath achieved;
I live to watch, and meditate,
And dream, -- and be deceived.

Mine be the visionary star
That vibrates on the sea;
I deem Ixion happier far
Than Jupiter could be.
