THE POEMS OF COLD MOUNTAIN: 160 by HAN SHAN

First Line: SOME PEOPLE FEAR A WHITE HEAD
Last Line: BUT IT'S NOT MEANT FOR HIM
Subject(s): AGING; CHINESE LITERATURE; FEAR;

Some people fear a white head
they can't let a red cord go
they seek elixirs and long life in vain
they dig up plants with abandon
year after year without success
foolish angry distressed
a hunter puts on a kasaya
but it's not meant for him
