Poet Analysis

First Line: WALKING THE LAKE SHORE AT FIRST MOONLIGHT I CAN SEE
Last Line: I POKE MY STICK IN THE MOON'S WATERY FACE, THEN APOLOGIZE.

Walking the lakeshore at first moonlight I can see
feathers, stones, smooth spars, seaweed,
and the doe washed up from the Manitous two days ago
has been nearly eaten by the coyotes and ravens.
I poke my stick in the moon's watery face, then apologize.
