LULLABY by VIRGINIA BIOREN HARRISON

First Line: SLEEP, BABY, SLEEP / WAITING NEAR WITH OUTSTRETCHED HANDS
Last Line: GOD AND MOTHER VIGIL KEEP.

Sleep, baby, sleep!
Waiting near with outstretched hands,
See the slumber Angel stands.
Every bird has sought its nest;
Lambs are in the fold at rest;
Sleep, baby, sleep!
God and mother vigil keep.

Sleep, baby, sleep!
Through the trees the night winds wail;
Past the stars the dream-ships sail,
Clouds for canvas, dreams for freight;
Hush, my sweet, the hour grows late.
Sleep, baby, sleep!
God and mother vigil keep.
