Guests expectantly await Singing boys, heads turning now, Here they come, all dressed in white, Sashes green, their smiles invite Rapture, bliss and merriment. Then a sound that thrills the ear Throbbing, sobbing, minor chord. Rhythm changes, next they sing. Off they go with such a swing. How they charm us with an art Old as sin and young as love, Heritage of blood in part. Ages old, palms merry, too, Swaying, dancing in the wind, And the booming of the sea Joins encores approvingly. Full moon sailing overhead Gives its beauty to the night. Patter, patter, drops of rain, Liquid "moonshine," lunar bow, Perfect ending, gorgeous sight, Music wails, "@3Aloha Oe@1" Guests depart. Good night, good night. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...FOR LOVE'S SAKE, KISS ME ONCE AGAIN! by BEN JONSON THREE FRIENDS OF MINE: 5; SONNET by HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW WINTER HEAVENS by GEORGE MEREDITH THE CASTLE OF INDOLENCE: CANTO 1 by JAMES THOMSON (1700-1748) A STREET SKETCH by JOSEPH ASHBY-STERRY BOTHWELL: PART 6 by WILLIAM EDMONSTOUNE AYTOUN |
