HONOURS ARE HINDRANCES by ROBERT HERRICK

Poet Analysis

First Line: GIVE ME HONOURS: WHAT ARE THESE
Last Line: TO MY HEAVEN LESSE RUN, THEN FLIE.

Give me Honours: what are these,
But the pleasing hindrances?
Stiles, and stops, and stayes, that come
In the way 'twixt me, and home:
Cleer the walk, and then shall I
To my heaven lesse run, then flie.
