THE DREAM (2) by ROBERT HERRICK

Poet Analysis

First Line: BY DREAM I SAW, ONE OF THE THREE
Last Line: THEN JUHA WEEP, FOR I MUST DY.
Subject(s): DREAMS; NIGHTMARES;

By Dream I saw, one of the three
Sisters of Fate appeare to me.
Close to my Beds side she did stand
Shewing me there a fire brand;
She told me too, as that did spend,
So drew my life unto an end.
Three quarters were consum'd of it;
Onely remaind a little bit,
Which will be burnt up by and by,
Then Juha weep, for I must dy.
