TO LAURELS by ROBERT HERRICK

Poet Analysis

First Line: A FUNERAL STONE / OR VERSE I COVET NONE
Last Line: AS THE ETERNALL MONUMENT OF ME.
Subject(s): MONUMENTS;

A funerall stone,
Or Verse I covet none
But onely crave
Of you, that I may have
A sacred Laurel springing from my grave:
Which being seen,
Blest with perpetuall greene,
May grow to be
Not so much call'd a tree,
As the eternall monument of me.
