PHILOPOENA by ROBERT UNDERWOOD JOHNSON

First Line: ANNEKE THOUGHT IT ROYAL FUN
Last Line: MY LIPS SHALL CLAIM THE PENANCE.

ANNEKE thought it royal fun
The pretty game I taught her,
And ere my lesson quite was done
With "yes or no" I caught her.

Bright spirit, in whose glances sweet
Dwell joy and wit as tenants,
With "give or take" when next we meet
My lips shall claim the penance.
