THE MESSAGE OF FULTON by ROBERT UNDERWOOD JOHNSON

First Line: RIVER OF PLENTY AND THE PEACE OF GOD
Last Line: NOR LESS WITH TIME GOD'S PLENTY AND HIS PEACE.
Subject(s): FULTON, ROBERT (1765-1815); SHIPS & SHIPPING;

RIVER of Plenty and the Peace of God --
Of all His streams the chosen since His feet
By thy round cliffs our new-world beauty trod --
(Eldest of all our soil His face to greet:)
Rejoice anew, O River of the Heart,
To have in human glory such a part!

From out the heights of Fame's diviner air
Unto his kind this message and this call:
@3Labor is Happiness and Hope and Prayer;
There is no Progress but the good of all;
Of every bondage Love is the release,
Nor less with Time God's Plenty and His Peace.@1
