ABOUT HIMSELF (2) by CLEMENT MAROT

First Line: I AM NOT NOW WHAT I HAVE BEEN
Last Line: NO BETTER SERVICE COULD YOU HAVE.

I AM not now what I have been,
And I shall be so never more;
My spring and summer tide, I ween,
Have flown away and slammed the door.
Love, you have been my lord of yore;
To you I strictest homage gave,
And if I could be born twice o'er,
No better service could you have.
