DIVIDED by ROSELLE MERCIER MONTGOMERY

First Line: THERE IS A WORD THAT YOU MAY NEVER SPEAK
Last Line: BUT OH, THE YEARS, THE LONG YEARS WE MUST LIVE!
Subject(s): DEATH; TIME; DEAD, THE;

THERE is a word that you may never speak;
There is a look my eyes must never wear;
There is a silence we must always keep—
There is a secret that we may not share.

There is a barrier we may not pass;
There are divided ways that we must go;
And there are tears that must remain unshed—
There is the world, the world that must not know!

There is a wall that we can never scale,
A happiness we may not take or give;
And there is courage we must somehow gain—
But oh, the years, the long years we must live!
