THE COMFORTERS by ROSELLE MERCIER MONTGOMERY

First Line: THEY CAME TO MOURN WITH ME, TO COMFORT ME
Last Line: TO HEAR YOUR NAME!
Subject(s): MOURNING; BEREAVEMENT;

THEY came to mourn with me, to comfort me,
When they all knew ...
But ah, it was not till they came that I
Believed it true!

They talked to me of faith, of healing time,
Of Life above ...
Dear God, forgive them all for hurting me—
They knew not love!

But none would ever speak to me of you—
Of all who came
To comfort me—when I, I only yearned
To hear your name!
