VARIATION ON BEN JONSON by THOMAS STURGE MOORE

First Line: BEAUTY! AND OH 'TWAS I WHO SAW
Last Line: ALL BEAUTY, AND ALL IN ONE SPOT.
Subject(s): BEAUTY; JONSON, BEN (1572-1637); POETRY & POETS;

Beauty! and oh 'twas I who saw
It pure! So perfect that the frame
Of all the universe seemed lame
Compared with what no line could draw,
Nor mind therefrom infer a law!
Art, not yet in failing learned!
A sundry never stopped or turned!
Life's fair march made without a halt;
Her curious form without a fault;
Her story written without blot!
All beauty, and all in one spot.
