A SEA-BIRD by WILLIAM ALEXANDER PERCY

First Line: I CRY, I CRY
Last Line: AND MY HEART THAT IS MAD.
Subject(s): BIRDS; DEATH; HEARTS; NIGHT; SEA; DEAD, THE; BEDTIME; OCEAN;

I cry, I cry
Into the night.
Along the waves
I gleam and fly
A haunted flight;
A cry, a cry
Into the night.

Lone, alone,
And the sea is mad.
Mourning, mourning,
Broken and strown,
It nurseth the dead,
The dead alone --
And my heart that is mad.
