THO' LOVE HAS FLOWN by JOHN COWPER POWYS

First Line: LET THE WIND WAIL ON, MY DEAR
Last Line: HE WILL COME BACK.
Subject(s): HOPE; LOVE - LOSS OF; TEARS; WIND; OPTIMISM;

Let the wind wail on, my dear,
And the branches moan.
Light the candles; have no fear;
Draw the curtains; dry your tear;
Tho' love has flown.

He will come again, my child;
He will come back.
Over the hill and out of the wild,
From the long, long road, by your light beguiled,
He will come back.
