TROY RESTORED by PUBLIUS AELIUS HADRIANUS

First Line: O HECTOR, BLOOD OF ARES, CAN YOU HEAR BENEATH THE GROUND?
Last Line: AND ALL YOUR THESSALY SUBDUED BENEATH AENEAS' SONS.'
Subject(s): TROY;

OHECTOR, blood of Ares, can you hear beneath the ground?
Rejoice, and get your breath awhile on this your country's day!
For Ilion, famous city, is re-peopled: she has found
Men, not as brave as you were, but still lovers of the fray.
Go near and tell Achilles: 'Dead are all your Myrmidons,
And all your Thessaly subdued beneath AEneas' sons.'
