NECESSARY OBSERVATIONS: 30TH PRECEPT by THOMAS RANDOLPH

Poet Analysis

First Line: TO ALL ALIKE BE COURTEOUS, MEEK, AND KIND
Last Line: TO WHOM THY FRIENDSHIP SHALL FAMILIAR BE.
Subject(s): ETIQUETTE; MANNERS; COURTESY;

To all alike be courteous, meek, and kind,
A winning carriage with indifferent mind,
But not familiar -- that must be exempt:
Grooms' saucy love soon turns into contempt.
Be sure he be at least as good as thee,
To whom thy friendship shall familiar be.
