It'd keep a @3town-boy@1 hoppin'
Fer to work all winter, choppin'
Fer a' old fireplace, like @3I@1 did!
Lawz! them old times wuz contrairy! --
Blame' backbone o' winter, 'peared-like,
@3Wouldn't@1 break! -- and I wuz skeerd-like
Clean on into @3Feb'uary!@1
Nothin' ever made me madder
Than fer Pap to stomp in, layin'
On a' extry forestick, sayin',
"Groun'-hog's out and seed his shadder!"
