MY BIRTH-CHAMBER by JOHN BANISTER TABB

First Line: WHEN FIRST I WAKENED FROM THE NIGHT
Last Line: WITH MEMORIES APART FROM ME.
Subject(s): BIRTH; CHILD BIRTH; MIDWIFERY;

When first I wakened from the night,
Within that lonely room,
Methought in exile lived the Light
That left me in the gloom --
Its destiny henceforth to be
With memories apart from me.
