THE SWORD OF SIMEON by JOHN BANISTER TABB

First Line: BLEST BE THE SWORD THAT CLEFT HER HEART IN TWAIN
Last Line: THE SPEAR THAT SMITES THE FOUNTAIN-ROCK MUST GO.

Blest be the sword that cleft her heart in twain!
Else had the "pondered word" forever lain
Within the temple of her soul concealed,
Whose wound the thoughts of many a heart revealed:
Yea, to the source from whence the waters flow
The spear that smites the fountain-Rock must go.
