VAPORS by JOHN BANISTER TABB

First Line: IN SILENCE FROM THE EARTH WE RISE
Last Line: AND SOOTHE THE LABORER TO SLEEP.

In silence from the earth we rise
To learn the language of the skies;
Then, brimmed with music, melt again,
In soft soliloquies of rain,
To wake the seed-land slumbering deep
And soothe the laborer to sleep.
