THE END OF THE WAY by RACHEL ANNAND TAYLOR

First Line: MUCH HAVE I SEEN BY THE WINDING WAY
Last Line: JESU, I AM TIRED.
Subject(s): BEAUTY; CHRISTIANITY; LOVE - COMPLAINTS;

MUCH have I seen by the winding way;
And much have I desired.
What is the end of it all to-day?—
@3Jesu, I am tired!@1

I met with Love amid the dew;
At noon with Shame and Wrath;—
At sunset those three gibbets threw
Their shadows on my path.

No beauty can I bear to see.
Too much have I desired.
Here is a wayside Calvary!
@3Jesu, I am tired.@1
