A BOY'S SUPERIORITY by AMOS RUSSEL WELLS

First Line: THE WAVES FLOW IN, THE WAVES FLOW OUT
Last Line: IT'S BEATEN BY A BOY!
Subject(s): BOYS;

The waves flow in, the waves flow out,
They rise, and then they fall;
But I may always go ahead,
And never back at all.

The orchard is an empty thing
When winter crisps the air;
But there are golden fruits that I
May always gladly bear.

The skies are sometimes bright with sun,
And sometimes bright with rain;
But in my heart the sun may shine
And clouds attack in vain.

The world is very wonderful,
And full of bubbling joy;
But in a few important points
It's beaten by a boy!
