A WEATHER REPORT by AMOS RUSSEL WELLS

First Line: THE DAY WAS DARKLY DREAR
Last Line: THE WORLD WAS SUMMER!
Subject(s): SUMMER;

The day was darkly drear
Till you were in it,
But sunlight splendored clear
That very minute.

The world was dull and bare,
No birds a-winging;
You came, and all the air
Was full of singing.

The world was sleet and storm,
A wintry mummer;
You came, and tender, warm,
The world was summer!
