THE VISITOR by AMOS RUSSEL WELLS

First Line: A POEM TOUCHED ME IN THE NIGHT
Last Line: OH, VISIT ME BY DAY!

A poem touched me in the night
With softest finger-tips;
I laid my hand upon her arm,
I pressed it with my lips.

So soft her arm, so soft and smooth,
She slipped it quite away.
Alas, alas, my Beautiful,
Oh, visit me by day!
