FOR A CHILD: 3. CONTEMPLATION by CHARLES WILLIAMS

First Line: ACTUALLY, CHILD, I AM A GOD
Last Line: AND TWO MORTALITIES, EACH SOLEMNLY REGARDING THE OTHER.
Subject(s): CHILDREN; CHILDHOOD;

ACTUALLY, child, I am a god
Communing with you, a god:
We from our eternal stations
Behold in their infinite complexity the designs of the Almighty,
And among them, far away, tiny, unimportant,
Our age,
And in it, tinier, less important,
A town, a street, a cradle,
And two mortalities, each solemnly regarding the other.
