DAPHNIS CAME ON A SUMMER'S DAY by ANONYMOUS

Last Line: ALL FLOWERS AND LILIES FAR

Daphnis came on a summer's day
Where fair Phyllis sleeping lay,
With breast half naked bare:
He ran and gathered stores of lilies,
Wherewith he covered his fair Phyllis,
She being nought aware.
Fond youth, why dost thou mar
Those lily bowers and lose the pain!
Her lily breast doth stain
All flowers and lilies far.
