"SOLDIER, SOLDIER, TAKE OFF THY WINE" by ANONYMOUS

Last Line: "'THEN TAKE OFF YOUR DRINK, AS I TAKE MINE.'"
Subject(s): DRINKS & DRINKING;

'SOLDIER, Soldier, take off thy wine,
And shake thy locks, as I shake mine.'
'How can I my poor locks shake
That have but ten hairs on my pate?
And one of them must go for tithe;
So there remains but four and five,
Four and five, and that makes nine!'
'Then take off your drink, as I take mine.'
